What are we going to do?
We take you shrimp fishing. Shortly after leaving the harbour of Oudeschild, the nets go out. Experience the magic of shrimp fishing on Texel. A unique experience for the whole family. Feel the excitement, enjoy the catch and taste the salty flavour of the sea.
What do we do with the catch?
It goes into containers on the deck. In a truly unique Texel style, the crew explains everything that has been caught today. Fun guaranteed! But also very educational, for young and old. Afterwards, with the help of the children, everything goes back overboard.
And the shrimp?
They go straight into a large cooking pot. The crew explains how to peel them, and then you can taste to your heart’s content. You have never eaten them this fresh!
The weather and seals
What happens in bad weather?
We sail in all weather. The more wind, the bigger the adventure — Deadliest Catch, Texel style! Only in severe storms do we stay ashore. Rain? No problem! Put on your raincoat and dry off afterwards by the stove in the galley. Fog or drizzle? That’s when the Wadden Sea is at its most beautiful (and peaceful).
Will we see seals?
Maybe. No guarantee — the tide times vary every day.
